Frequently asked questions.

  • I am not in-network with insurance companies and am considered an out-of-network provider. If you have out-of-network benefits and wish to submit claims for reimbursement, I am able to provide a “superbill” for you to provide to your insurance company which includes all the necessary information. I encourage you to check with your insurance company prior to us working together to see if this is an option for you.

  • My rate is $250 for an individual/50 minute session and $325 for a couple or family/50 minute session. For couples/families who prefer more time, I also offer 80 minute sessions at $500. If you feel these rates are out of reach for you, please let me know. I maintain a certain number of clients on a sliding scale.

  • At this time, I am only working with clients through video conferencing. Sessions are conducted using a secure easy-to-use telehealth platform.

  • Online therapy offers many benefits such as convenience and access to good fit clinicians living outside of your region, however it’s not right for everyone. Teletherapy works best for people experiencing mild to moderate mental health symptoms, are comfortable using technology, and have a quiet/private place to have their sessions.

  • During the first session, I’ll want to hear a little about you and the reasons you sought out therapy. I’ll also try to answer any questions you may have for me. At this stage, I’m assessing if I think I can be helpful to you and you’re assessing if I seem like a good professional fit for you. Together, we decide if we’d like to proceed with another session. If for some reason we decide that we are not a fit, I will do my best to provide referrals and resources to support your needs.

  • Feedback Informed Treatement (FIT) uses two very short questionnaires at the beginning and end of each session to measure and track both therapeutic alliance and therapeutic progress. Research shows therapeutic alliance (the relationship between client and therapist) is the strongest predictor of positive outcome in therapy. By creating space within each session to receive feedback from my clients, I give them more of a voice in their treatment and often meet treatment goals in fewer sessions.
